1.How do you feel about Michael Jeffries’ view on who should wear Abercrombie and Fitch’s  clothing?


i feel angry about Michael Jeffrie`s view on who should wear Abercrombie and Fitch`s clothing. It is not fair for all the large women out there who do like their clothing brand and actually wear it.  Clothes are clothes, everyone wear`s clothes there is no need to label who should and should not wear them. That is like God saying ` girls will only have one eye and guys will have two because guys are cooler`` It is just not right and it is a bad look for the company. I actually have noticed that teen`s have been more open minded about other people, and parents would be very against this. Ambercrombie and Fitch are just putting  a bad face on themselves. 

2.Is it fair/equitable to target a particular group of teens?  Why or why not?

It is not fair to target a particular group of teens because not all of us are the same. All teens come in different sizes,colors, and faces. This is how teen`s starve themselves, which leads to having eating disorders. This could affect the other teens that are not particular group of teens. They will think that they are not good enough, or that they try to be in that particular group of teens. This could lead to suicide, overeating,over exercising, cutting,depression. Some teens are very sensitive and if they see that their `favorite` clothing brand will not be selling their size anymore that teen will start over thinking  It is not fair, and it will never be fair because it affects the other particular group of teens in a very harmful way. 

3..     How does this contribute to our already biased perception of what beauty is?

This contributes in many ways to our already biased perception of what beauty is. When we see people wearing their brand other`s who cant wear it are going to be labelled not cool and are going to feel bad about themselves.Another way this could contribute to our already biased perception of what beauty is that teens will think that being skinny and having all branded clothes is the only way to be cool and beautiful. Ambercrombie and Fitch only tell us that beauty is only from the outside not from the inside. This company has made this issue worst and might influence other companies.

1.Do you think that having twitter accounts will help attract youth to take a greater role in the life of the Church?

i think having twitter accounts will help youth to take a greater role in life of the Church. My point can be proven in different reasons. As, all or most youth are in to twitter and are highly addicted to be going on it all day. Having the pope have an account on twitter will definable get youth`s attention into his tweets. To youth the Pope is like a celebrity  he is known and praised all around the world. 
2.What are the benefits of having our Church leader tweet?  Are there any disadvantages?

The benefits of having our Church leader tweet is that we could keep up with what he is up to and what his thoughts are. As said in the video he was going to have a question session where people send in tweets and he would answer them. The advantages would be getting to know the pope, and inspiring Catholics around the world. A disadvantage would be that people might not like or agree with his tweet and might send hate comments. Other than that, it is pretty cool how our Church leader tweets! 

3.Does your parish take part in the social media world?  If so, please explain.

My parish does take part in social media world, but only in groups that they do have. Im part of a youth group and on Facebook they would have updates and Facebook messaging informing us of meetings and events taking in church.

4. Are there any other ways that the Church can encourage our youth to get more involved?  Do you have any personal experiences related to this?

There are other ways that the Church can encourage our youth to get more involved. SCHOOL!, school is where youth`s are every day, so get started there. The church could give presentations in school about church and how it works and give them a better understanding of our faith. Events in local communities can also help, that youth like to do for example,games,painting,writing and more. The Church can also post up posters in malls,community centers,church`s, where youth`s mostly are.

1. Do you think that Khadijah’s comments about her teacher, that he “lives at home with his mom, eats fish sticks for dinner, and all he talks about is Star Wars” were appropriate?  Explain.

I personally think that Khadijah's comments about her teacher was appropriate. I thought it was appropriate because she was just feeling angry at that time and twitter is one way to express your feelings. I know how she felt like because at times I feel like that towards my teacher. I am guessing the teacher did or said something that offended her or got her angry so she just wanted to get back at him with out getting in trouble.  These comments are not as offensive as i thought it could be if a student was going to get suspended for them. 

2.What is your opinion on the suspension of these students?  Was it reasonable for the school board to enforce such a punishment?  Why or why not?

My opinion on the suspension of these students is that it was wrong. I believe that the school was over reacting in the situation. I am pretty sure that students in that school, even all around the world do these types of things in social media. It was not reasonable for the school board to enforce such punishments because I am pretty sure that they know everyone in the school has done it too. A warning for ALL nine students would have been reasonable since it was the first time the school has ever done it. If they did not want students saying comments, they should have WARNED all students before.Unless the school  lay's down a rule of not allowing students to comment on teachers on twitter or any social sites, i believe the students had the right to do that.

3. How do you feel about the reaction of the students – that they should be able to share their opinions freely?  Is it okay to post this sort of thing on social media websites like Twitter?
I personally think that the students reactions are appropriate and reasonable Students should be able to share their opinions freely because they do have their own accounts and I think that is the purpose of twitter and social media sites. Twitter is a place where you can express your feelings and type whatever you want because it is your own account. You made it so people could know a lot about you and could know your feelings. When teenagers are angry they usually "tweet" it because they know that other students will see it too so then they will have a sense of connection so they dont feel alone. I believe opinions through media is a better way of letting your anger out. I guess teachers would want us to offend them face to face, because all students know that teacher's know we do talk about them, and not all of them are good comments. Therefore, it is okay to post this sort of thing on social media websites like twitter!

PAPARAZZI MAYHEM! 

1.Do you agree or disagree with the way celebrities are treated by the paparazzi? 

I disagree with the way celebrities are treated by the paparazzi. Celebrities are like us, they are normal people. They have private lives and they have secrets that are meant not to be shared by the whole world. They deserve to have privacy and not have paparazzi sneaking into their personal lives. Paparazzi's are not all bad, but from what the public hears, they are just people that are payed to harass celebrities. If they could have been more respectful and gave celebrities space, they would not be known as people with cameras that harass celebrities. 

2. How far is too far? 

How far is too far, you ask? Paparazzi's that go to far are the ones that are obsessed with their job and making as much money as they could possibly make as their job is their life. Going to far is basically stalking celebrities in their daily activities and harassing them. AS celebrities are getting hurt is too far, if they are in danger then paparazzi is going too far. 

3.Why would the paparazzi use media networks to their advantage to post personal news about famous individuals?  Is this right?           

Paparazzi would use media networks to their advantage to post personal news about famous individuals because media networks are used by everyone. People who use laptops,ipods, iphones and can access media networks can access information about the latest gossips about celebrities faster than magazines or newspapers. This isn't right because they are posting false information and invading their privacy.

4. Research an appropriate paparazzi scandal that has occurred within the past few years.  Do you agree or disagree with the way the celebrity was treated?  Why or why not?
Not too long ago, Justin Bieber ran into a paparazzi in London while on his way going into his van. This particular person is a paparazzi and he started to curse to Justin and used  inappropriate words calling   him an "american" and started to talk trash about him. As a teen Justin talked back and tried to attack him, as he curses back. I disagree with the way Justin was treated because celebrities get enough hate but they do not need it from the paparazzi because they already do enough as their jobs bother the celebrities. 
5.How would you feel if someone invaded your privacy (cell phone, laptop, etc)?  Explain.

I already get bothered every time my friends invade my privacy more so to strangers called the "paparazzi" I would feel invaded and insecure as a human being we do need our personal space as it should not be asked but received whenever we want it. It should be a right,especially for celebrities since their life is exposed to the world. We do have personal things that maybe we do not want to share with the whole world. If everyone knows about your business you get disappointed and mad as you will get judged.

1.Are you a member of a social networking website?  Why or why not?

I am a member of many different social networking websites. I am a part of these websites because it gets me to know many of my friends and classmates more and It is much easier to message them through sending messages. Also, everyone uses them so you would want to join the crowd and be part of the site too. It is just fun to know what everyone is doing and to joke around,sharing pictures and just sharing memories. 

2.Have you checked your privacy settings lately?  Who can see the information that you put out there?

I just checked my privacy settings just now! On my Facebook account only my friends can see the information out there. On my twitter account it is on public so everyone in the world can see what I say and the pictures I post, because I have no problem with it.

3.What kind of information are you allowing others to have access to?  Have you thought about this before?

The kind of information i am allowing others to have access to is my birthday. On my twitter account I show the year i am born in and the initials of the the school I go to. Although if you look through my twitter account you can pretty much tell the city I live in , the activities that I do, and pictures of me. I have thought of this before and sometimes I do worry, so i just changed my twitter account to private. 

4.What kinds of things are safe to post?  Unsafe?  List some unsafe information that you should keep to yourself and not allow others to see online.

The things that are safe to post is pictures of yourself and friends ( CLEARLY NOT SHOWING WHERE YOU LIVE, EXACTLY). You could also tweet what you are doing but do not give information where you are or where you are going to BE in an exact time, date, and location. Also do not post credit card numbers,pins,passwords, exact locations of your house, family names and more. ONLY post pictures of yourself that are appropriate and make sure when you post pictures of your friends you get permission. 

5. How can we become more responsible users of social network websites?  Why is this so important?

We can be more responsible users of social networking sites by double checking what we are going to post online. Making sure that you are only giving information you want everyone to see, and to think twice. This is very important because we don't want people having our locations and robbing our house, we don't want people robbing out bank accounts, we don't want strangers knowing things about us. There have been many cases of "stalking" which is a very important problem. When strangers know your everyday schedule and is wanting to harm or sexually attack you, this could be easy for them if your information is out for everyone to see. KEEP IT SAFE, NEVER PUT TOO MUCH INFORMATION. 

iPHONE CRAZE!

1)      Are you the type of person that wants/needs top of the line  

      electronics?  Why or why not?

I am not the type of person that wants/needs top of the line electronics. I have noticed that most teenagers feel the need to have everything that is popular. Weather it would be the new brand of sweaters or new hairstyles. Im not like that, if i have interest in it i will get it, but if i don't, i don't feel like the need to have that electronic. Im guessing some teenagers get it to show off, and feel popular.I am nothing like that, people shouldn't like you for the things you have. Im not going to lie, it it hilarious when people do buy it to get attention, but i am not like that.

2)      How do you feel about Apple’s bank of material that will be

      released over time

  I guess i feel overwhelmed with all of Apple's bank.  I think it is good that they are keeping it so that people will have time to get the recent generation of apple products. People will have the time to get the hang of the products that they do have, and hope they do enjoy it.Then they will want to have the next generation of that product.Apple will always have newer versions of every product that they have. I think that it is a good thing that they release them later on in the year. It is to keep costumers, interested and aware of their progress in the industry. 

3)      How do you think the I phone might change in the years to come?  What other applications/functions would you like to     see 

      incorporated into new versions??

I think the I phone will change dramatically over the years. The I phone has become so popular over time. Especially with the new I phone 5 that has just been released 2 months ago. Everywhere you go, you will see someone with an I phone.  It will  get more popular over the years when more and more people own these kinds of phones. People will want more advanced functions, so apple will get more on their future I phones. I would want to see a Hologram future on the nearest I phone that will be released. People have always wanted that future for a very long time.
